The restoration of the North American P-51D Mustang, serial number 44-74813, at our facility is a homage to Major George Preddy, the highest scoring P-51 Mustang ace of World War II, who tragically lost his life to friendly fire on Christmas Day 1944. This project embodies our dedication to historical accuracy and craftsmanship, setting a new standard for the preservation of warbird legacy and honoring the memory of one of aviation's greatest heroes.

Undertaken for Ken Wagnon, the meticulous restoration of "Cripes A Mighty" aimed to replicate the iconic aircraft as it would have appeared at the end of Major Preddy's distinguished service. Our commitment to authenticity guided every step, from sourcing period-correct parts to applying the distinctive paint scheme and markings associated with Major Preddy. This endeavor, fueled by extensive research and a deep respect for wartime history, ensures that the aircraft represents a tangible connection to Major Preddy's legacy and the broader narrative of World War II aviation.

In embracing this project, we sought to do more than merely rebuild a vintage aircraft; we aimed to resurrect a piece of history, celebrating not just the mechanical marvel that is the P-51 Mustang but also the spirit of bravery and sacrifice it represents. "Cripes A Mighty" stands as a testament to our capability to blend historical preservation with the technical demands of warbird restoration, ensuring that the aircraft maintains its authentic character while incorporating modern enhancements for safety and reliability.

Our work on "Cripes A Mighty" highlights the ongoing relevance of warbirds in preserving military aviation heritage, allowing future generations to witness the majesty of these aircraft and the stories of valor they encapsulate. By dedicating this restoration to Major George Preddy and all who served alongside him, we honor their contributions to freedom and aviation, ensuring that their heroic tales continue to inspire and educate. Through meticulous restoration and dedicated homage, "Cripes A Mighty" flies once again, a moving tribute to Major Preddy's enduring legacy in the skies.
